X-Factor Philippine finalist, Mark Mabasa impressed the international singer David Foster. Mabasa only wanted to watch “David Foster and Friends”.
He was with his manager, Grace Mendoza, the former handler of Charice Pempengco. But, Foster picked him from the audiences to which the younger singer grabbed the opportunity.
“Sabi ko I’m from the Philippines e di nagsigawan ‘yung mga tao. Ang dami palang Pilipino doon! I’m proud to be a Filipino.”
Mabasa rendered “The Last Time”, a Foster ballad popularized by Eric Benet where he wowed the audiences and Foster himself.
“Paglabas ko nga feeling ko isa ako dun sa nag-perform kasi nilalapitan ako nung mga tao ta’s nagpapa-picture sa ‘kin. They were appreciating me,” Mabasa recalled.
The next day, his manager received a call from the international singer, but, they are about to leave Singapore that time.
In January, Mabasa was set to perform with US rapper Iyaz.
Mabasa was a part of the X-Factor Philippines and have set the standards in the competition by rendering the song “Kiss from a Rose” by Seal. He got booted during the second elimination night.
